AWOFINC has been designed to meet the needs of the individual, family and community.  The majority of our programs are available at no cost.  During the school year, we offer the Homework Center and Tutoring Program for school-age children.  Year 'round AWOFINC offers Youth Leadership & Development and Community Initiatives like the Parent Information & Resource Center and the Violence Prevention Consortium.



As you know, disadvantaged families and individuals in our community go without proper food, shelter, and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors. Low wages, illiteracy, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, divorce, and sometimes just the inaccessibility of community resources are factors that inhibit the family’s ability to maintain its self-reliance. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, women, children and the elderly are at the most risk and make up the largest number of clients we serve.



With the generous support of people like you, we will be able to help many of these families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs but to work toward a brighter future with programs in parenting education, community initiatives, and violence prevention for public schools and more.  AWOFINC is also instrumental in linking our clients with needed services provided by partnering organizations, weaving the closely knit fabric that offers the safety net that allows our families to continue to reside in communities that work with and for its residents.
