"Woke & Wealthy" Scholarship Workshops This workshop series will increase the workshop participant’s (ages 14-24) knowledge of their heritage/history while increasing their financial literacy and desire to improve their economic condition. From July through October 31, 2018, the participants will be introduced to the works of Dr. Boyce Watkins via youtube, his social media platform Blaggenuf and his online “Black Business School” in the weekly group sessions.

Street Engagement Teams engage at-risk youth and their families on the streets, parks, spiritual meeting places, and common areas in the community. Our goal is to go to the places where young people hang out. We want to “touch” as many lives as possible.

Community Engagement Program. If you would like to become a community organizer, we suggest you register for the Leadership Training program. We also have connections with other leadership and Fellows Leader programs which can teach or enhance leadership skills.

The Chicago Northside Families Safety Net is committed to reducing the alarming number of African American children in DCFS in the North and Northwest communities of Chicago. Compared to their general population rate (11%), nearly 5 times as many African American children in Chicago North & Northwest Side communities are represented in DCFS (54%).
